Foliar fungicide applications to field crops are becoming more mainstream every year.  In some cases, these applications may add to profits by protecting yields against losses due to disease; however, in other cases, these applications may be an added expense and result in a net loss.  Figuring out when it will pay is not always easy, but the odds will be on your side when considering disease risks, scouting observations, and unbiased research results.
